Until 2012 I was a lecturer at Universiti Malaya. Then I had a kind of mid-life crisis and a zen moment. I decided to concentrate on what I loved best, birding or bird-watching. Thus ended my academia days. I decided too to also photograph the birds for posterity because they were becoming scarcer, especially forest birds because their habitat, the forests, were and are being destroyed fast.
Along the way I also started photographing and identifying butterflies. I photograph too other bugs but have trouble in identifying them. Also mammals when the rare chance encounters permit – they are much more difficult to come by. Along the way I started to have an interest in photographing landscapes and from there, much later, “citytownscapes.” Even though I don’t like human-made structures much I decided to photograph them for posterity, especially to see the change over time.
Citytownscapes include too what is called street photography.
Hope you like the photos as much as I have in photographing and presenting them.
Best wishes,
Rosli
